Someday

Upon a broken heart and battered wings

She searches to end her suffering

To lighten her spirit and and leave behind

the hurt that haunts her depleted mind

the inclination of her being, once wild and free

now struggles to merely be

She says goodbye to a passing wind

hoping to never feel its kiss again

She tries to walk away, and hopes the memories soon fade

she’ll watch the scars slowly heal from being betrayed

someday she will emerge on another side

free from the constraint of this tempestuous tide
